Altrusa International of Terre Haute announces its 26^th annual Chili Cook-off! Get your taste buds ready! The Cook-off is home to great chili tasting and fun filled competition. The event will take place on September 20th in Clabber Girl’s Festival Marketplace located on the corner of 9^th and Cherry Streets. The festivities will include a Beer Garden, Live Auction, Book Sale, and of course plenty of chili tasting.

The ladies from Altrusa cannot wait to see what the contestants have in store for them this year. The entry fee is $50 per booth.  A panel of culinary experts will judge each chili entry with awards being given to the Hottest Chili, and the Best Chili entered by individual teams and organizational teams.  The People’s Choice Award will be given to the team that raises the most money in their Tasting Jar.  The Showmanship award will go to the best booth/team or theme presentation.

The proceeds from the Chili Cook-off go to support many Wabash Valley literacy programs such as Vigo County GED Graduation, Wabash Valley Literacy Coalition’s Literacy Volunteer Recognition Event, Family Learning Day at Vigo County Public Library and the Vigo County Spelling Bee. The funds also help purchase books used by the local Covered Bridge Girl Scouts, Community Alliance and Service for Young Children, SMWC Big Buddy-Little Buddy Reading Program and Gibault, Inc.
